Student Work
As a ceramics educator for the last 33 years, I have supported all approaches to studio ceramics including sculpture, sculptural vessels, utilitarian pottery, installation, and mixed media work. Until my retirement in 2018, the last 24 years of my career were as Professor of Art and Head of the Clay Area at Tennessee Tech University’s Appalachian Center for Craft. At the Craft Center we maintained a strong commitment to craft, includuing materials, process, and technique, taught within the context of contemporary fine art and fine craft. I am proud of what my students have accomplished, and you can check on their current activities by clicking on the names at the bottom of the Links page. Below is a diverse sampling of work produced while they were at the Craft Center. The images are arranged in chronological order with the earliest at the top. Please email me if you have questions about any of this work.
